We're in Bloom!

"Mary, Mary, quite contrary,
How does your garden grow?
With silver bells, and cockle shells,
And pretty maids all in a row."

 - Mother Goose, The Real Mother Goose board book. (1998)

Mary's garden would undoubtedly grow quite well if she had help from the Master Gardeners at Gaithersburg Library! The Master Gardeners are happy to answer such questions as:

"What gardening zone is Gaithersburg in?"
"How come my tulips look so sad? "
"How can I make my rhododendron live longer?"
"Where's the best place in my garden for a rose bush?"

No appointment necessary, just come to the lobby of Gaithersburg Library every Saturday from 10 AM -  2 PM from now until October to get free help from our Master Gardeners.  To help them better assist you, please bring a plant sample and/or pictures.

Also, don't forget to come to the Gaithersburg Library to see our beautiful display of books and other resources to meet your gardening needs.

The Gaithersburg Book Festival

We’re excited about the Gaithersburg Book Festival next Saturday, May 16th! Since 2010, the Gaithersburg Book Festival has fostered an interest in reading, writing and literary conversation in the Gaithersburg community with programs and visits by authors, poets and songwriters.

Featured programs this year include free writing workshops for adults and children , a children’s village, exhibitors and more.

Parking and admission to the festival is free. The Gaithersburg Book Festival will take place at Gaithersburg City Hall in Old Towne Gaithersburg from 10 AM to 6 PM.

Gaithersburg Book Festival display at Gaithersburg Library

To celebrate at Gaithersburg Library, we have a convenient book display with works by some of the authors who will be featured at the Gaithersburg Book Festival including Ellen Oh, Winifred Conkling, Kwame Alexander, David Axelrod and more.
